A new drug to trim double chins has performed well in trial studies.
The drug, called ATX-101, helped reduce submental fat (SMF)— also known as double-chin—in two placebo-controlled studies in Europe. It was injected into the patients. It causes disruption of the fat cells and then contents flush from the area in a natural manner.
Canadian and United States trials are planned. Right now, the current treatment for a double chin is liposuction or diet. If approved for use, this promises to make people of all types excited about a chance to revitalize their faces.
