The number and frequency of peels, the depth of dermal penetration, and the downtime each patient needs should be included in all treatment plans for laser resurfacing. A patient’s pathology should determine the aggression of treatment as well as the laser. A laser will either be full field or fractional.
Full field laser resurfacing is considered the “Gold Standard” and has been available since the mid-1990’s. When the details of it were refined, it became a more predictable and safer alternative to some chemical peels.
